Exhibition Design

Project Outline

This exhibition was created to combine the styles of Canadian graphic designers: one historic and one contemporary. The designers chosen were Allan Fleming and Lucas Young.

Software Used: InDesign | Illustrator | After Effects

Initial Ideas

The name comes from the first initials of their last names, as well as the goal of people freeing themselves of any predetermined ideas about the designers and experience something new.

Design Exploration

The piece taken from Allan Fleming is the continuous line font inspired by the CN logo, and the pieces taken from Lucas Young are the bright colours and halftone dot pattern.

Solution

The final designs use the logo and continuous line as a focal point to draw viewers’ eye across the pieces, and use a triadic colour scheme to add visual interest.
