Project Outline

The purpose of this project was to create a set of book covers for three of Shakepseare’s plays. They were made to be a unique keepsake for collectors.

Initial Ideas

The initial plan was to combine photography and illustration to create an eye-catching and modern cover. This was to attract a younger audience to make them want to read Shakespeare.

Design Exploration

During the ideation stage, it was decided to make them black and white so they have a hint of a timeless and historical feel. The titles are set vertically to add visual interest.

Solution

The final designs showcase one of the main elements of the stories along with a popular quote from each. The titles are large and bold to contrast the simple and light illustrations.
